Best BBQ in Texas – Don't Go Looking in New York City

September 4th, 2010 by

It seems to make sense if you want the best BBQ in Texas to not go to New York City, but it has to be said. Just because a place looks and smells like a pig doesn’t make it a pig. I’ve been reading about the Hill Country Barbecue in Manhattan and I don’t like it. Sure it might be a great place for confused Texans to remember what it’s like to be home, or for New Yorkers to think they are getting a test of Texas, but it is not the real thing.

Place-The Pizza Place, Yonkers, NY-7/3/08-Clip#2

September 1st, 2010 by

The Pizza Place is an exciting restaurant, just a stone’s throw from the Hudson River, smack in the middle of the beautiful and lively downtown waterfront section of Yonkers, NY, a city on the rise. The Pizza Place is owned by Ronald Masciandaro, whose creativity and artistry is evident in not only the enlivening ambience, high ceilings, walls with murals, and gorgeous music lifting the spirits of friendly staff and customers, but also evident in the delicious dishes of a wide variety of pizza, soups, salads dinners, wedges, pasta and side orders. On 7/3/08, I (Frank Sisco) stopped by with my wife Lorrie and daughter Kelly, planning to see my friend Nathaniel Goldberg (Papahawk) play and sing jazz with three others, only to find out I was a week early. Yet, I heard from outside The Pizza Place the piano keys being played wonderfully by a smiling man on the other side of the window, later to find out it was the owner Ron. With my video camera handy, I took a few videoclips which, with Ron’s permission, are here. For more information about The Pizza Place, about Yonkers, NY or about any of these videoclips, please contact me at 914.740.4422, or by email to: ideasmoney@aol.com, and see other videoclips on my website at www.videovoom.com. If you want to contact The Pizza Place, please call 914.709.1050, or email Ron at pizzaplaceinc@aol.com. This lively restaurant is located at 92 Main Street, Yonkers, NY 10701, in the heart of the downtown waterfront area, right next to the

Top Child Friendly Restaurants in Johannesburg

August 31st, 2010 by

I am finding that like myself, my friends are also building families, and like myself they also find the prospect of worrying after children while at a restaurant unappetizing. When a bunch of my friends and myself want to meet up, we can have around 10 children in tow, aging form 6 months up to 6 years old, I think we strike fear into the heart of many a restaurateur.

Lake Lanier Restaurants – The Smaller the Better

August 30th, 2010 by

Lake Lanier, GA has a handful of some of those restaurants. You have restaurants such as Loretta’s Country Kitchen offering some of the best buffet style homemade country cooking in the South, and one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had, and Big D’s Bar-B-Que that has been a local favorite like forever Big D’s has gained it’s fame by serving up dry rubbed, and hickory smoked Bar-B-Que that has been smoked for around fourteen hours, and The Lighthouse grill which is located next to The Dam Store, and they cook up some delicious southern style grilled hamburgers at a economic price which you can dine on in a neat little cozy fishing village style air conditioned dining room.
